Heads of Departments at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences Welcome First-Year Students in an Introductory and Awareness Meeting

The departments of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Jordan welcomed first-year students for the academic year 2025/2026 in an introductory and awareness meeting held with the heads of the academic departments. The meeting aimed to introduce students to their respective majors and mark the beginning of their university journey.

The following department heads welcomed the new students:

  • Dr. Mais Al-Doghmi, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy

  • Dr. Doaa Al-Wawi, Head of the Department of Occupational Therapy

  • Dr. Hala Al-Omari, Head of the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences

  • Dr. Mahmoud Al-Fatafteh, Head of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics

Each department held a separate meeting in which the heads provided an overview of the departments’ mission and vision, as well as the key academic and behavioral values that shape the university experience, such as integrity, respect, commitment, and self-care. The discussions also covered essential skills students need from their first year, including time management, seeking feedback, active participation, and developing communication and teamwork skills. The department heads also emphasized the importance of adhering to the academic study plan and consulting academic advisors to monitor their academic progress.

Students were further encouraged to engage in the college’s activities and events.

Additionally, a number of second-, third-, and fourth-year students shared their academic experiences, offering practical advice on making the most of educational opportunities, organizing study schedules, benefiting from labs and lectures, and participating in student activities.

The meeting, which also included participation from several faculty members, concluded with affirming that the School places students at the heart of the educational process and strives to prepare qualified professionals capable of creating meaningful impact in their communities, while highlighting the humanitarian role of the School’s health disciplines.
