Dr. Rawan AlHeresh, Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and the Public Health Institute at the University of Jordan, has been appointed as the focal representative of Cochrane in the World Health Organization’s Disability Health Equity Network (WHO Disability Health Equity Network).
Dr. AlHeresh’s appointment will extend from October 2025 to September 2027. She will begin her official appointment at the inauguration meeting in Geneva early next month, November, at the WHO headquarters.
This appointment comes in recognition of Dr. AlHeresh’s pioneering role in advancing health equity and inclusion for persons with disabilities in community services, as well as her efforts in promoting evidence-based research and collaboration between academic institutions and global health organizations.
