( Lower extremity prosthetics for below knee amputations)
Course Description :
This course covers trans-tibial (below the knee) and ankle-disarticulation prostheses.
The components (especially prosthetic foot-ankle mechanism), fabrication and the
biomechanical principles related to them will be thoroughly described. This course also
generally covers lower extremity amputation levels, causes and associated problems.
Throughout the course, students' skills in critical thinking, evidence-based practice and
decision-making will be strengthened.
