( Pharmacology and substance abuse)
Course Description :
This course informs students about most commonly used medications in the area of sport. Basics of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of those medications will be covered. The main aim of this course is to improve students’ ability to understand and communicate information to athletes on prescribed medications, over the counter drugs and performance enhancing substances. Moreover, students will be able to identify drugs and substances banned by sports to advise athletes about possible disqualifications.
