Occupational Therapy is a specialty that empowers children and adults to effectively cope with their temporary or permanent disabilities in various life situations. As such, occupational therapy helps people in various stages of life to participate in activities that they want or need to do through the use of functions and daily activities in a therapeutic way. The occupational therapy offers services are aimed at: −Enabling children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social activities. −Enabling clients who have been subjected to physical or neurological injuries to restore their previous skills and adapt to their new condition. −Enabling clients with mental disabilities to participate in daily living skills and social development, and support for addicts and the elderly who are going through physical and mental changes that reduce their participation in activities important to them. Offering Comprehensive assessments and application for modifications in home environment and workplaces to guarantee the readiness of such contexts to fulfill the the needs of people with disabilities. Our OT department offers different modules that aims to orient the students with the characteristics and values of occupation. This is by providing the students with the chance to engage in various arts and crafts and in various forms of creative Medias such as ceramics, paper crafts, mosaics, music therapy and psychodrama. Currently the Occupational Therapy (OT) department is launching several research projects in collaboration with other national and international universities such as the Hashemite University in Jordan and the Pittsburgh university, respectively. Also the department is currently holding an exchange agreement with Lund University for exchanging of students and academic members that aims to diversify the training settings for students and to encourage launching of collaborative research projects.

Orthotics and ProstheticsOrthotics and Prosthetics3
Founded in 1999, the Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) is the first and only accredited prosthetic and orthotic practitioner education program not only in Jordan but on the Arab world. Since then, O&P department has proven itself on a continual basis as a leader in, education, research and development. Our structured education is strategically designed to assist students in achieving a mastery of the O&P profession, by providing a healthy balance of clinical management, research, and administrative responsibilities. The department offer core prosthetics and orthotics courses that instruct students in the principles of designing and fabricating prostheses and orthoses, developing patient evaluation skills and creating individualized treatment plans. Patient volunteers participate throughout the span of the program allowing students to gain practical experience in all aspects of the clinician-patient experience. Our mission is to provide Jordan and surrounding region with qualified orthotists and prosthetistswho have the ability to evaluate individuals with various disabilities and provide them with adequate orthosis or prosthesis needed according to their clinical conditions. Finally, it is our goal for the coming future to be the provider of choice to all JU Hospital patients, both locally and state-wide, for their orthotic and prosthetic needs.

The department of Physiotherapy is part of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences. We have been key players in the development of the Faculty and its academic programs. Physiotherapy has been taught in the University of Jordan for 14 years. We continue to be one of the regional leading providers of physiotherapy courses and training. Our BSc course qualifies students to practise physiotherapy. Joining our BSc program enables students to gain an integrated approach to physiotherapy education and clinical practice. This program adopts the principles of professional physiotherapy practice by equipping students with distinguished learning skills, basic scientific knowledge, hands on training and clinical placement. Physiotherapy department provides training in the following specialties: Neurological, Cardiopulmonary, Musculoskeletal, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Burns and Surgery. The Department staff includes 10 PhD holders who graduated from highly ranked international universities across Europe, US and Canada. The delivery of practical and clinical training is supported by 8 lab instructors. The department endorses multidisciplinary research in the following areas: Higher education and e-learning, Measurement of Rehabilitation outcomes, Gait and motor control, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Neurological Rehabilitation and Pediatric Rehabilitation. The department envisions activating the Physiotherapy Clinics to support the local community by providing high quality physiotherapy services. Moreover, we hope to deliver postgraduate and doctoral programs in the near future.

The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, established as part of the College of Rehabilitative Sciences in 2003, is among the first university departments in Jordan to offer academic degrees in Hearing and Speech Sciences. The Bachelor degree program attracts students from all over the country and the region.
Diverse theoretical and clinical opportunities to learn about different communicative disorders are offered by the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences. The hearing courses and clinics, introduce students to diagnostic and rehabilitative services to children and adults.  The Speech-Language courses and clinics offer experiences related to speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders at all ages.
The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences faculty is composed of highly productive and qualified PhD and master degree holders. The program aims at adding faculty members to accommodate an increasingly multi-disciplinary focus in speech, language, and hearing sciences. The program professors prepare students to enter the critically important fields of speech and hearing science, health, and related research.
 Most career opportunities as well as certification requirements demand graduate level degrees.  In Speech-Language pathology and audiology, a student must complete a master’s degree. Our undergraduate program provides a firm foundation for future graduate studies in any local or international graduate program.
Our Speech-Language Pathology master’s program is the only graduate program at the country and the regional level. The program is designed to provide the academic and clinical education to prepare graduates to meet existing and emerging challenges to the professions.
